खचाटणें

   To cut up or cut roughly and impetuously, to slash. 2 hence To drag or pull; to seize or catch; to bind or tie; to exclaim or utter; to perform or do generally with rude violence or vehemence. The word is used with great latitude; and in the form खचाटून precedes several verbs, enhancing or giving emphasis to their signification: e. g. v खचाटून- ओढ- बांध- अवळ- तान-खेच- झाड- माप भरणें- खा-जेव- भर. it conveys an impression of ardor, smartness, impetuousness, energetic determination. it corresponds, both in nature and in extent of application, with the verbs कचकाविणें, रगडणें, रपाटणें, दपटणें and numerous others of this lively language; and thus, as under the first of these mentioned, and under its form कचकावून, minute explication and particular examples are given, to them the thorough- going student must be referred.

 उ.क्रि.  १ ( गवत कापतांना होणार्‍या ' खचखच ' आवाजावरुन किंवा मनुष्याला फार धम झाल्यावर तो आवाज करतो त्यावरुन ) तोडणें ; साकटणें ; सट्‌दिशी कापणें ; सपासपा तोडणें . २ वेगानें , आवेशाने धसफस करुन खेंचणें , ओढणें , पकडणें , बांधणें , ओरडणें ; ( सामा .) मोटःया आवेशानें किंवा फसफसीनें कांहीं करणें ( याचा उपयोग अनिर्बंध करतात ); कांही क्रियापदांच्या मागें खचाटून हा शब्द लावला म्हणजे त्याचा अर्थ जास्त जोरानें असा होतो . जसें :- खचाटून ओढणें , बांधणे , आवळणे , ताणणे , खेचणें , झाडणें , जेवणें , मरणें वगैरे . उत्सुकता , तडकाफडकी , आवेश , नेट , वेग इ० चा बोध या शब्दावरुन होतो ; या शब्दाचा उपयोग कचकाविणे रगडविणें , रपाटणे , दपटणें इ० शब्दाच्या अर्थाशी जुळण्यासारखा करतात .
