स्वामिन् [svāmin] a.  a. (-नी f.) [स्व अस्त्यर्थे मिनि दीर्घः] Possessing proprietory rights. -m.
A proprietor, an owner.
A lord, master; रघुस्वामिनः सच्चरित्रम् [Vikr.18.17.]
A sovereign, king, monarch.
A husband.
A spiritual preceptor.
A learned Brāhmana, an ascetic or religious man of the highest order; (in this sense usually added to proper names).
An epithet of Kārtikeya.
Of Viṣṇu.
