सैंहिकेय

SAIṀHIKEYA(S)   The Asuras (Demons) who were the sons of Siṁhikā. Two sons named Hiraṇyākṣa and Hiraṇyakaśipu and a daughter named Siṁhikā were born to Prajāpati Kaśyapa by his wife Diti. Siṁhikā was given in marriage to Vipracitti. The sons of this couple were known by the name Saiṁhikeyas. Rāhu was the first of the Saiṁhikeyas. [Agni Purāṇa. Chapter 19] . सैंहिकेय     

सैंहिकेय n.  एक सुविख्यात राक्षससमूह, जो विप्रचित्ति दानव एवं सिंहिका के पुत्र थे । इस समूह में कुल एक सौ राक्षस थे (विप्रचित्ति देखिये) ।
सैंहिकेय (साल्व) n.  एक असुर, जिसका परशुराम ने देवताओं की आज्ञा से वध किया [विष्णुधर्म १.५२]
