प्रेत्य

प्रेत्य  n. ind. having died, after death, in the next world, in the life to come, hereafter (opp. to इह), [ŚBr.] ; [Mn.] ; [MBh. &c.]

प्रेत्य

प्रेत्य [prētya]   ind. having departed (from this world), after death, in the next world; न च तत् प्रेत्य नो इह [Bg.17.28;] इह कीर्तिमवाप्नोति प्रेत्य चानुत्तमं सुखम् [Ms.2.9,26.] -Comp.
-जातिः  f. f. position in the world to come.
-भाज् a.  a. enjoying the fruits of actions in the next world.
-भावः   the condition of soul after death; कथं मे प्रेत्यभावेऽपि न तैः स्यात् सह संगमः [Mb.1.36.12.]
-भाविक a.  a. relating to प्रेत्यभाव; see पारलौकिक; प्रेत्यभाविकमीहन्ते ऐहलौकिकमेव च [Mb.14.37.17.]
