सानु  n. m.n. (accord. to [Uṇ. i, 3] fr.सन्; collateral form 3. स्नु) a summit, ridge, surface, top of a mountain, (in later language generally) mountain-ridge, table-land, [RV.] &c. &c. ([L.] also, ‘a sprout; a forest; road; gale of wind; sage, learned man; the sun’).
