to come forth, become visible, appear;
to be ready, [ŚBr.] ; [MBh.] ; [R.] ; [Mn.] ; [Yājñ.] ; [Kathās.] ; [BhP.] ; [Prab.] &c.;
to take place, begin, [Kāś.] on [Pāṇ. 3-3, 111] :
Caus.P.-पादयति (rarely Ā.-ते), to produce, beget, generate;
to cause, effect;
to cause to issue or come forth, bring forward, [Hariv.] ; [MBh.] ; [Yājñ.] ; [Mn.] ; [Kathās.] ; [Hit. &c.] ;
to mention, quote (See उत्-पन्न).

उत्पद्     

उत्पद् [utpad]   4 Ā.
To be born or produced, arise, originate, spring up; उत्पत्स्यतेऽस्ति मम कोऽपि समानधर्मा [Māl.1.6;] वायोर्ज्योतिरुत्पद्यते [Ms.1.77.]
To occur, happen; उदपादि चास्य मनसि [K.132] it occurred to his mind; युद्धमुत्पत्स्यते महत् Mb.; उत्पन्नावसरमर्थित्वम् [M.3.] for which an occasion has presented itself; [Ms.5.48.] -Caus.
To produce, beget, cause, effect, bring about, prepare; वस्त्राण सदैवो- त्पादयति [Pt.2;] [Ms.1.63,2.147,9.6;] so दुःखम्, दोषम्, भयम्, शङ्काम् &c.
To bring forward.
