अर्वाच्  mfn.  mfn. वा॑ङ्, वा॑ची, वा॑क्, Ved. ( fr. अञ्च् with अर्व, near or ‘ hither’) coming hitherward, coming to meet any one, turned towards, [RV.] &c., being on this side (of a river), [L.], being below or turned downwards, [AV.]; [ŚBr.]; [ChUp.]

अर्वाच् [arvāc] a.  a. [अवरे काले देशे वा अञ्चति पृषो˚ अर्वादेशः]
    coming hitherward (opp. पराञ्च).
    turned towards, coming to meet anyone.
    being on this side (as the bank of a river); (opp. पर).
    being below or behind (in time or place).
    following, subsequent.
