भावन [bhāvana] a.  a. (-नी f.) [भू-णिच्-ल्यु ल्युट् वा] Effecting &c.; भूतभव्यभविष्याणां भावानां भुवि भावनाः [Mb.14.37.15;] यत् पृच्छसे भागवतान् धर्मांस्त्वं विश्वभावनान् [Bhāg.11.2.11;8.1.16;] see भावक above.
   नः An efficient cause.
   A creator; जय देव भुवनभावन [Māl.9.4.]
   An epithet of Śiva.
   Of Viṣṇu.
   नम्, ना Creating, manifesting; भावनं ब्रह्मणः स्थानम् [Bhāg.3.26.46.]
   Promoting any one's interests.
   Conception, imagination, fancy, thought, idea; मधुरिपुरहमिति भावनशीला [Gīt.6;] or भावनया त्वयि लीना 4; [Pt.3.162.]

भावन  nf.  ( -नं-ना)
   1. Mental perception, recollection, the present con- sciousness of past ideas or perceptions.
   2. Imagination.
   3. Religi ous and abstract meditation.
   4. Looking about, (literally or figur- atively.) observing, investigating.
   5. Causing to be.
   6. Decorating any person or object with flowers, perfume, &c, scenting, anoint- ing.
   7. Steeping, infusion, especially repeatedly drying the article by day and keeping it moist at night.
   8. (In arithmetic,) Composi- tion.
   9. (In law,) Ascertainment, proof.
    E. भू to be, in the causal form, to bring present or into being, aff. णिच्-ल्यु .
