ugā ad decl sometimes उगी ad Without speaking, moving, working, doing; without a profession or business; without a purpose or motive;--i. e. silently; still; at rest or ease; idly, merely, unthinkingly: also without cause, occasion, grounds, reason, necessity, profit &c. Laxly applied. Ex. उगा ऐस बोलसील तर; उगा बैस अगदी हालूं नको; तुझें शरीर अगदी श्रमानें अळलें तू महिनाभर उगा बैस; त्या दिवसापासून मी उगा आपले घरीं पडलों; मी उगा आलों मला बोलावयाचें कांहीं नाहीं; ही पृथ्वी तो सूर्य तीं नक्षत्रें हीं उगीं झालीं काय? हा पाऊस उगा पडतो; म्यां दोन वर्षे उगा व्यापार केला. The learner should trace out in these examples the exemplification of the senses given above. उगा or उगांच, उगींच &c. is in every body's mouth, and possibly with yet obscurer applications.
