स्वस्तिवाचन  n.  ( -नं)
   1. A religious rite, preparatory to a sacrifice or any important observance, in which the Brāhmans strew boiled rice on the ground, and invoke the blessings of the gods on the ceremony about to commence.
   2. An offering of flowers, sweet- meat, &c., to any one intended to secure good wishes and blessings.
