शशः [śaśḥ]   1 A hare, rabbit; [Ms.3.27;5.18.]
The spots on the moon (which are popularly considered to resemble the form of a hare).
One of the four classes into which men are divided by erotic writers; thus defined; मृदुवचनसुशीलः कोमलाङ्गः सुकेशः सकलगुणनिधानं सत्यवादी शशोऽयम् Śabdak.; see Ratimañjarī 35 also.
