   The seven saints of the Brahmarshi order, contemporary with each Manu. The names of the several series differ; the names of the saints of the present Manwantara are कश्यप, अत्रि, भरद्वाज, विश्वामित्र, गौतम, जमदग्नि, वशिष्ठ, or, according to other authority, मरीचि, अत्रि, अंगिरस, पुलस्ति or स्त्या, पुलह, क्रतु, वशिष्ठ. These form, in astronomy, the asterism of Ursa major.
