Light fuel or burning material; light sticks, chips, grass, wood; things generally, lit. fig. of little consistence or worth. 2 Arid and sterile ground. The term, although of general application, is by some understood mainly of the ground in the vicinity of villages or on the sites of ruined villages, poor and meagre, yet imbued with animal matter from the deposits of cattle &c. bhurakāḍa a Dry, meagre, poor--grass or other product of sterile ground: also dry or lean, parting with its moisture भुर! or भुरकन!;--used of a soil.
