Stammering, stuttering, faltering; तत्किं रोदिषि गद्गदेन वचसा [Amaru.57;] गद्गदगलत्त्र्युठ्यद्विलीनाक्षरं को देहीति वदेत् [Bh.3.8;] सानन्दगद्गदपदं हरिरित्युवाच [Gīt.1.] -दम् ind. In a faltering or stammering tone; विललाप स बाष्पगद्गदम् [R.8.43;] ˚नदत् [U.2.3] producing a gurgling sound.
