   one who constantly performs sacrifices, a liberal householder; भूमिं वृत्तिकरीं दत्त्वा सत्री भवति मानवः [Mb.13.62.29;] अत्यशेरत परस्परं धियः सत्त्रिणां नरपतेश्च संपदः [Śi.14.32.]
   A priest superintending or performing a sacrifice; [Bhāg.4.14.7.]
   A class-mate, disciple; तदस्य गूढाः सत्त्रिणश्च संवादयेयुः [Kau.A.1.11;] स सत्रिभिः शपथपूर्वम् एकैकममात्यम् उपजापयेत् [Kau.A.1.1.]
