noun  बढ़ई के बरमें के समान अरणि के वृक्ष का बना हुआ आग उत्पन्न करने वाला एक काठ का यंत्र   Ex. अरणि को कुशा पर रखकर वेद मंत्रों के उच्चारण के साथ घुमाते हैं तब छेद के नीचे वाली कुशा जल उठती है और यह आग प्रायः यज्ञ में काम में लाई जाती है ।
