hēṅgaḍa or ḍā and, by redup., हेंगडतिफड a See under हेंगाडा. ; also in that of Rude, rough, coarse, ugly, monstrous, barbarous;--used of speaking or a speech, working, acting, or of a work or an act, a practice, a fashion &c.; also in that of Dull, heavy, stupid; and in that of Stubborn, perverse, crooked. The word is applied freely, as the English words Savage and Barbarous, to foreign persons, languages, costumes, modes, and manners. Pr. हेंगाडा कुणबी दुणा राबे धन्याला खर्च फार लागे.
