ĀHUKA   A king of Yadu Vaṁśa. he was the father of Ugrasena, the father of Kaṁsa. ( some Purāṇas say that Āhuka and Ugrasena were the names of the same person). For genealogy, see “YADU VAṀŚA”. In [M.B., Sabhā Parva, Chapter 14, Verse 33] , we find that Akrūra had married Sutanū, the daughter of Āhuka. Āhuka had a hundred sons. [M.B., Sabhā Parva, Chapter 14, Verse 56] . there were constant quarrels between Āhuka and Akrūra. [M.B., Śānti Parva, Chapter 81, Verses 8-11] .

आहुक n.  ( सो. यदु. कुकुर). पुनर्वसु का पुत्र । इसके सौ पुत्र थे [म.स.१४.५५] । तथापि उनमें से देवक तथा उग्रसेन बहुत प्रसिद्ध थे । शाल्व के साथ कृष्ण के युद्ध के समय इसने द्वारका का रक्षण किया [म. व.१६.२३] । यह अभिजित् पुत्र था । इसे श्राहुक नामक भाई था । अत्यन्त ऐश्वर्यवान् तथा पराक्रमी ऐसी इनकी प्रसिद्धि थी [ब्रह्म.१५.४६-५१] ।
