The loc. case, धारकशीं, in construction with धरणें, is the general form: sometimes धारकशी as nominative, with करणें and सीं of o. is met with. The phrase धारकशीं धरणें then is To draw over an edge; to subject to severe trial or hard proof; to worry, weary, wear, try. Ex. पोरानें खाऊकरितां मला फारच धारकशीं धरलें. धारकशीं घालणें-टाकणें-ढकलणें-देणें-लावणें-सोडणें To cast into jeopardy or peril, or into extreme difficulty, embarrassment, or trouble.
