ब्राह्म्य

ब्राह्म्य  mfn. mfn. relating to ब्रह्म or ब्रह्मा or to the Brāhmans, [Mn.] ; [MBh.] &c. (often v.l.ब्राह्म)
ब्राह्म्य  m. m. (with मुहूर्त or °तक) dawn, the hour preceding sunrise, [HYog.] ; [Pañcar.]
ब्राह्म्य  n. n. (with or scil.हुत) worship or veneration paid to Brāhmans (considered as one of the 5 great sacraments = द्विजा-ग्र्या-र्चा or मनुष्य-यज्ञ), iii, 73, 74">[Mn. iii, 73, 74]

   relating to brahman, the creator.
   relating to the supreme spirit.
   relating to the Brāhmaṇas.
   ह्म्यम् wonder, astonishment (विस्मय).
   worship of the Brāhmaṇas.-Comp.
-मुहूर्त = ब्राह्ममुहूर्त   q. v.
-हुतम्   hospitality to guests; see ब्रह्मयज्ञ; cf. [Ms.3.74;] ब्राह्म्यहुतशब्देन मनुष्य- यज्ञाख्यो ब्राह्मणश्रेष्ठस्यार्चा [Kull.]
