पञ्चवट  m.  (-टः) The Brāhminical thread as worn across the breast; also पञ्चावट.
 f.  (-टी)
1. Five fig-trees, viz:--the Indian and the holy fig, the Bel, Grislea tomentosa, Rox. (धात्री) and Asoka, placed or plan- ted in several quarters; viz. east, west, north, south and south- east.
2. Part of the great southern or Dandaka forest where the Godāvari rises.
E. पञ्च, and वट the Indian fig.
