Assignment, allotment.
Direction, command, instruction, rule, precept.
Fate, fortune, destiny.
Good fortune, happiness, any auspicious event (such as the birth of a son); दिष्टिवृद्धिमिव शुश्राव [K.55;] दिष्टिवृद्धिसंभ्रमो महानभूत् [K.7.]
A sort of measure of length. -Comp.
