आठनहाण

āṭhanahāṇa n The ceremony of the ablution of the bridegroom and bride on the eighth day after the marriage. This ceremony is observed four times; viz. on the eighth day, on the tenth day, on the sixteenth day, and on the completion of the month, after the marriage; and it is called, respectively, आठनहाण, दसनहाण, सोळनहाण, मासनहाण: also आठबंधन, दसबंधन, साळबंधन, मासबंधन.

 न. लग्नानंतर आठव्या दिवशीं वधुवरास स्नान घालण्याचा एक सोहळा . या प्रथम महिन्यांत याप्रमाणें चार स्नानें असतात . जसें - आठन्हाण ; दसन्हाण ; सोळन्हाण ; मासन्हाण इ० किंवा आठबंधन ; दसबंधन ; सोळबंधन ; मासबंधन इ० वरात आणि आठनहाणें । कनकवस्त्रें नाना भूषणें - कथा ३ . ७ . १९२ . कोल्हापुराकडे आठणाण असें ( अप . ) रुप आढळतें [ सं . अष्ट + स्नान ]
