स्तुभ् 1. (connected with √ 1.स्तु and स्तुम्भ्) cl. 1. P. (iii, 14">[Naigh. iii, 14] ) स्तो॑भति (only in pres. base; 3. sg. स्तोब्धि, [JaimBr.] ; p. Ā. -स्तुभान, [RV.] ; gr. also pf. तुष्टुभे; fut. स्तोभिता &c.), to utter a joyful sound, hum, make a succession of exclamations, shout ( esp. applied to the chanted interjections in a सामन्), [RV.] ; [Br.] ; [Lāṭy.] ; cl. 1. Ā. स्तोभते, to pause, stop, cause to stop, paralyze &c. ( स्तम्भे), [Dhātup. x, 34] : Caus. स्तोभयति ( aor. अतुष्टुभत्), to praise in successive exclamations, celebrate, [RV.] < br> स्तुभ् [cf.
