पञ्च—नद f. n. the Pañjāb or country of 5 rivers (viz. the शत-द्रु, विपाशा, इरावती, चन्द्र-भागा, and वितस्ता, i.e. the Sutlej, Beās, Rāvī, Chenāb, and Jhelum or Behut), [MBh.] ; [R.] ; [Rājat.] (also f(ई). , [Hcat.] ) N. of sev. तीर्थs (esp. of one near the junction of the किरणा and, धूत-पापा with the Ganges after the union of the latter river with the यमुना and सरस्वती), [MBh.] ; [SkandaP.] पञ्च—नद n. m. or n.N. of a river produced by the junction of the 5 rivers of the Pañjāb and which falls into the सिन्धु, [L.] पञ्च—नद m. m. a prince of पञ्च-नद, [MBh.] (pl. the inhabitants of पञ्च-नद, [MBh.] ) N. of an असुर, [Hariv.] of a teacher, [VāmP.]
