प्रमद्

प्र-√ मद्   a (or मन्द्) P. (rarely Ā.) -मदति, -मन्दति, -माद्यति (°ते),
to enjoy one's self, be joyous, sport, play, [RV.] ;
to be careless or negligent, to be indifferent to or heedless about (abl. or loc.), [RV.] &c. &c.;
to neglect duty for, idle away time in (loc.), [Mn.] ; [MBh.] &c.;
to be thrown into confusion, [MBh.] :
Caus.P.-मादयति, to gladden, delight, [Bālar.] ;
Ā.-मादयते, to enjoy, indulge in [RV.]

To be intoxicated or drunk.
To be careless about, to be negligent or heedless, be regardless of or indifferent to (with loc.); अतोऽर्थान्न प्रमाद्यन्ति प्रमदासु विपश्चितः [Ms.2.213.]
To omit to do, swerve or deviate from (with abl.); स्वाधिकारात् प्रमत्तः [Me.1.]
To make a mistake, err, go astray; प्रमाद्यन् चारदुर्बलः [Bk.5.8;17.39;18.8.]
To spend or while away (time).
To be joyous; युक्तः प्रमाद्यसि हितादपेतः परितप्यसे [Ki.11.29.]
