ब्रह्मयोनि

BRAHMAYONI   A holy place in Kurukṣetra. It is mentioned in [Mahābhārata, Vana Parva, Chapter 83, Stanza 143] that one who bathes in this holy Bath will attain the world of Brahmā.

A long and narrow hollow through a rock at Benares. Through this every pilgrim must attempt a passage. If he stick in the middle, he is regarded as embarrassed by sin. There is a corresponding hollow way through another rock, called रुद्रयोनि q. v.
