प्रवेणि     

प्रवेणिः [pravēṇiḥ] णी [ṇī]   णी f.
A braid of hair (in general); हेमभक्तिमतीं भूमेः प्रवेणीमिव पिप्रिये [R.15.3.]
The hair twisted and unadorned (worn by wives in the absence of their husbands).
The housings of an elephant.
A piece of coloured woollen cloth; [Mb.15.27.13.]
The current or stream (of a river).
