अपाङ्क्त [apāṅkta] पाङ्क्तेय [pāṅktēya] पाङ्क्त्य [pāṅktya]   पाङ्क्तेय पाङ्क्त्य a. 'Not in the same row or line'; especially one who is not allowed by his castemen to sit in the same row with them at meals; degraded, excommunicated, excluded from or inadmissible into society, an outcast; ˚उपहत defiled by the presence of excommunicated or impious persons. एतान्वि- गर्हिताचारानपाङ्क्तेयान्द्विजाधमान् (विवर्जयेत्) [Ms.3.167.]

1. Not in a line or row.
2. Not in the same degree or class, unworthy, inadmissible into society, excluded.
E. अ neg. पङ्क्ति a line, अण् affix; also similar derivatives as अपाङ्क्त्य, &c.
